FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHERE DO I START?
We suggest you start with the song and the story and do that on day one. Then each day, simply sing the song and choose one small activity at a time. Ask them what they remember about the story and encourage them to respond like the characters did, as similar situations arise.
THERE'S SO MANY RESOURCES, DO WE NEED TO USE THEM ALL?
These packs are designed with different ages and interests in mind, to cater for your whole family. Simply select the activities that suit the needs and interests of your children.
HOW LONG SHOULD EACH SESSION TAKE?
We suggest you keep it short and consistent; you are better off doing 10/15mins a day, everyday, rather than 1hr, once a week.
IS THE SONG REALLY NECESSARY?
Yes, do not skip this, it is one of the most important parts! This will be the difference between your child remembering the scripture for a week and remembering it for a lifetime.
Will you be releasing more activities for each pack if we want to revisit a scripture?
Not at this stage, because each pack has a range of activities, you could come back at a later date and redo the scripture and song and use activities you didn't use last time. This is really important for revision to ensure your children have memorised the scripture and it is part of their lifestyle.
How long should we spend on each pack?
It's completely up to you and depends on how quickly your child is learning the verse and applying the concept. Some principles may be harder to grasp for some children, so you may want to spend longer on that scripture. The heart of these packs is for your child to instill habits and a lasting heart change rather than just ticking a box of memorisation.
Is there a way we can periodically test our children on scriptures we have completed without having to do the whole pack?
Absolutely, if you print out the declaration cards, laminate them and put them in a special box, you can pull them out and test your children with them. You can also grab a discussion question from any pack you have completed and ask the question around the dinner table, in the car or while doing the dishes together. You can also have the stories as books that you read together regularly. If you are able, we recommend you laminate and bind the book so it lasts longer.
